The note is the part of the day that follows you home. Written at the time it is rushed, written at night it is thin, and either way it is the thing a consultation loses first when the waiting room is full.
How it works
- Listens to the consultation, on the phone in the room, no new hardware
- Separates who said what, doctor and patient as different speakers, so a conversation becomes usable rather than one block of text
- Drafts the note in structure, complaint, findings, diagnosis and plan
- Codes the diagnosis to SNOMED CT, so the record is portable, not a paragraph of prose
- Waits for your signature, the draft is not the record until you make it one
The patient is asked before anything is recorded. Consent is per consultation, never per patient: agreeing today authorises nothing tomorrow. The wording lives on our servers with a version number, and the browser records which version it showed, so we cannot later claim to have displayed something we did not. Hindi by default, English if you switch the consultation language.
Where the audio goes
Into an encrypted store in the AWS Mumbai region, on our own infrastructure, under a signed Business Associate Agreement. Transcription runs with speaker labels. Audio and transcripts do not leave that infrastructure and are deleted on request.
You stay the author. The scribe proposes; you dispose. It will occasionally mishear a drug name or a number, the same way a junior would, which is exactly why the signature step exists and why we will not remove it.
Questions doctors actually ask
What does the AI medical scribe do during the consultation?
It listens, separates who said what, and drafts a clinical note in the standard complaint, findings, diagnosis and plan structure before the patient stands up. Diagnoses are coded to SNOMED CT rather than typed as free text. You read the draft, change what you want and sign it.
Does the patient know they are being recorded?
Yes, and they are asked every time. Consent is per consultation, not per patient, so agreeing once does not authorise anything at a later visit. The consent wording is versioned on our servers and the browser records which version it displayed.
Where is the consultation audio stored?
In an encrypted store in the AWS Mumbai region, on our own infrastructure, under a signed Business Associate Agreement. It has never been sent to a foreign cloud for storage, and it is deleted on request.
What if the note is wrong?
You fix it before you sign it. Speech recognition is not perfect and will occasionally mishear a drug name or a dose. The draft is never the record until a registered doctor signs it, and that step is deliberate.
